Thornton Engineering was founded in 1992 by Michael Thornton, P.E. in Medford, Oregon.
Two years later Kirk Daley, P.E., joined the firm. Both Thornton and Daley, who share nearly 60 years of civil engineering experience between them, are dedicated to professional engineering services for our clients. In 2007, the company moved to its current location in historic Jacksonville, Oregon.
Michael Thornton, P.E., President of the company, has over 30 years experience in the field. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cal-Davis, Thornton worked as a civil engineer in Sonoma County, Calif., before moving to Southern Oregon in 1990. His experience includes providing design for commercial, municipal, residential and community projects.
Kirk Daley, P.E., Vice President, received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. He has served as a consulting engineer for commercial and residential developments, providing complete engineering and planning services for site work, foundation design, structural design and construction management services.
How we work
Effective communication is essential at Thornton Engineering—internally, with our clients, and project partners. Through strong communication, we are able to have successful outcomes on all levels of projects.
Every project is different, and through open and clear communication, we can eliminate surprises.
Thornton-Daley Project Management
As longtime professional engineers, Mike Thornton and Kirk Daley observed many clients struggling with how to proceed with projects. Elements of projects were not assigned and slipped through the cracks, such as permits not getting pulled. Thornton and Daley decided to form Thornton-Daley Project Management to help clients through the complex process of completing the multiple tasks and steps of a project.
A strong project manager will cover costs by making the project efficient.
As project managers, Thornton-Daley will ensure the job is done right—from the very first idea of the project throughout the process until it’s completed.
